The Rock Cycle
The rock cycle is a cycle that rocks go through to turn them into a different rock. An igneous rock can go through deposition and turn into a sedimentary rock. That same rock can turn into a metamorphic rock through heat and pressure. A rock can keep going in that cycle through many different ways.

Rock Cycle Paths
The rock cycle can go in various different paths, not just one. Igneous rocks can be eroded into sediment, then the sediment can can be deposited into a sedimentary rock. The sedimentary rock can be eroded back into sediment, etc. But instead, a rock can start off as a sedimentary rock and go through extreme heat and pressure and become a metamorphic rock. The metamorphic rock can melt into the ground, and volcanic activity can turn it into an igneous rock, which can then go through extreme heat and pressure and change back into a metamorphic rock.
